

A fresh, light pizza with a white cream sauce, topped with tomatoes and fresh basil. Make your favorite pizza crust, or purchase a pre-made dough for a quick meal.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (10 ounce) package refrigerator pizza crust, or your favorite homemade crust recipe
1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® San Marzano Style Chopped Tomatoes in Puree with Garlic, Basil Olive Oil & Sea Salt 28 oz, drained or 1 (28 ounce) can Diced Tomatoes 28 oz, drained
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Instructions
Step one
To prepare white pizza sauce; heat the butter in a small saucepan on medium heat. Add flour and stir until thoroughly mixed. Slowly whisk in milk, adding gradually. Stir in salt, black pepper, garlic and 1 cup of cheese. Reduce heat to low and cook until starting to thicken; remove from heat. Will thicken more upon standing.
Step two
Preheat oven to 425o F. Lightly grease 12” pizza pan or 13×9 inch pan. Unroll pizza crust and place on greased pan. Starting at center press dough out with hands to edge of pan. Push up the sides about ¼ inch.
Step three
Spread cheese sauce mixture on crust. Arrange diced tomatoes in a single layer over cheese.
Step four
Sprinkle remaining cheese over tomatoes. Bake 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Just before serving sprinkle with fresh basil.
