The name says it all. This perfectly seasoned tomato pasta sauce takes just 20 minutes to make. For a twist, consider replacing the Italian sausage with meatballs.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pound Italian sausage, links with casings removed or ground sausage
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Peeled Plum Tomatoes, drained or 1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® No Salt Added Peeled Plum Tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons sugar
1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso Tomato Puree Extra Thick with Sweet Basil 28 oz
- 1 (6 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Tomato Paste
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
Step one
Heat oil in a large saucepan, add sausage and garlic. Cook until sausage is browned and cooked through. Add peeled plum tomatoes, basil, oregano, parsley, salt, black pepper, sugar, tomato puree, tomato paste and water. Break up tomatoes with back of spoon. Continue to stir mixture until combined.
Step two
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve on your favorite pasta.
