Green Beans with Tomatoes

A savory side dish that pairs well with grilled chicken or a lovely steak!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion, or 1/4 cup finely diced shallot
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Petite Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen green beans
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2-3 fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced

Instructions

Step one

In a medium sauté pan add olive oil over medium high heat.  Add garlic and onion or shallot and sauté until translucent and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

Step two

Add Tuttorosso Petite Diced tomatoes, green beans, and stir to combine.  Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or until green beans reach your desired crispness.  Season with salt and pepper.

Step three

Add the thinly sliced basil leaves and stir into beans just before serving.
