The most important part of any pizza is inarguably the sauce. With fresh herbs, tomatoes and just the right seasoning, this sauce is a little sweet a lot delicious!
Ingredients
- 3 medium garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Tomato Puree Extra Thick with Sweet Basil 28 oz
1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Crushed Tomatoes with basil 28 oz
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
Instructions
Step one
In a large saucepan sauté garlic in oil until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil.Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes or until sauce reaches desired thickness.
Step two
Use sauce with any recipe that calls for pizza sauce. The sauce will keep in the refrigerator for 1 week.
