

Looking for a mouthwatering, comforting weeknight dinner? This 30 minute Cheesy Beef Tortellini features tender pasta, seasoned ground beef and a rich creamy sauce made with Tuttorrosso curshed tomatoes and Tuttorosso tomato paste. Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Tuttorosso Tomato Paste 6 oz
1 can Tuttorosso Crushed Tomatoes with basil 28 oz
- 1 cup water or pasta water
- 1 tsp salt, or to taste
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped, plus extra for topping
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes, 1 tsp sugar if you like a smoother sauce
1 package cheese tortellni (18-20 oz, refrigerated or frozen)
2 cups shredded mozzarella
1/2 – 3/4 grated parmesan
Instructions
Step One
Cook the beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess grease if needed. Add onion and cook 4–5 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Step Two
Stir in tomato paste and cook 1–2 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes, 1 cup water, salt, pepper, chopped basil, and all seasonings. Simmer 10–15 minutes until rich and slightly thickened.
Step Three
Stir in the cooked tortellini combine with the sauce.
Step Four
Stir in half the mozzarella and a handful of parmesan. Top with remaining mozzarella and the rest of the parmesan.
Step Five
Plate and top with cheese, red pepper flakes, and basil.
