  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 1/2 cup ricotta cheese, whole milk variety

Instructions

Step one

Preheat oven to 400º F

Step two

In a medium sauté pan, add olive oil over medium high heat.  Add onion and garlic and sauté until translucent and fragrant, about 2 minutes.

Step three

Add tomato paste and stir to combine, cook an additional 2 minutes.  Add salt, pepper and sugar.

Step four

Add the Petite Diced Tomatoes, stir to combine.  Cook over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes until a nice sauce consistency has been reached.

Step five

Pour sauce into a small oven-proof baking dish.  Drop large dollops of ricotta cheese around baking dish, do not stir.

Step six

Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is heated through and sauce is hot and bubbly.  Serve with toasted bread croutons.
