Thick and rich chili with an ingredient that might surprise some…a little sweetness to balance the tomatoes, and it’s not sugar.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 (15 ounce) can chili hot beans
1 (28 ounce) can Redpack Canned Crushed Tomato in Puree 28 oz
1 (28 ounce) can Redpack Canned Diced Tomatoes 28 oz
2 (8 ounce) cans Redpack Canned Tomato Sauce 8 oz
- shredded cheese, for topping
Instructions
Step one
Brown ground beef, onion and green bell pepper in a large skillet. Transfer meat mixture to large kettle and add salt, pepper, chili powder and cocoa; mix well.
Step two
Add beans, 3 cans diced tomatoes and crushed tomatoes. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to simmer and cook for 20 to 25 minutes.
Step three
Garnish with shredded cheese.
