

Made from vine-ripened tomatoes and a fiery blend of spices, this sauce delivers a bold, zesty kick to take your pizza to the next level!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Olive Oil
- 9 cups Yellow Onions, medium dice
- 1/4 cup Minced Garlic
- 2 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
- 12 oz Tomato Paste
- 1/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
- 1 – #10 can Red Gold Nutritionally Enhanced Plant Based Protein Pasta Sauce
- 2 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1 1/4 tsp. Black Pepper (ground)
Instructions
Step one
Preheat oven to 475°F
Step two
In a large rondeau over medium high add olive oil and onions. Stir to coat.
Step three
Reduce heat to medium low, and continue cooking onions, stirring every 2-3 minutes until onions have caramelized (about 30 minutes).
Step four
Add the garlic, brown sugar, tomato paste, salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar.
Step five
Add the Red Gold Nutritionally Enhanced Plant Based Protein Pasta Sauce, stir to combine.
Step six
Bring sauce to a simmer and let simmer for 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool and reserve for pizza prep.
