

Chicken Tortas are one of my favorite family meals! They can be filled with steak or pork, and are essentially Mexican sandwiches that are filling and full of flavor. The best thing about tortas is you can change them up based on your preferences and tastes. @foodiemama1 @thefeedfeed
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chicken bouillon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried cilantro
- 1 Tablespoon kosher salt
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 can Red Gold® Canned Petite Diced Tomatoes 14.5 oz
2 cans Red Gold® Original Diced Tomatoes + Green Chilies 10 oz
- 8 torta bread or french rolls
- shredded cheese , for topping
- sour cream, for topping
- shredded lettuce, for topping
- chopped onion, for topping
Instructions
Step one
In a pot bring 6 cups of water to a boil. Season the water with chicken bouillon, garlic powder, onion powder, dried cilantro and salt. Add chicken breast and cook for 35 minutes (until fork tender). Once the chicken is cooked, remove from pot and allow to cool for a few minutes before shredding.
Step two
In another pot, add 1 can of Red Gold Petite Diced Tomatoes and 2 cans of Red Gold Original Diced Tomatoes + Green Chilies. Add shredded chicken to the pot.
Step three
Toast tortas on both sides brushed with olive oil.
Step four
Lastly, assemble tortas with cheese, chicken, sour cream, lettuce, and onion.
